From Folk to Classical
The New Horizons Willamette Valley Orchestra will play their Winter Concert in the Smith Music Hall Recital Room on the campus of Western Oregon University in Monmouth on Monday, March 20, 2017 — 7:00 pm.
An Encore presentation of this concert will be played at the Dallas Retirement Village in Dallas on Friday April 28, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Both Concerts are presented without Admission Charge
The concerts will include the following: Appalachian Morning (Robert Sheldon); Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” (Ludwig van Beethoven arr by Vernon Leidg); Cumberland Cross (Carl Strommen); Millennium (Richard Meyer); Peer Gynt Suite Selections (Edvard Grieg, arr by Richard Meyer); A Pirate’s Legend (Soon Hee Newbold, Orchestrated by Carl Rydlund); Prairiesong (Carl Strommen); Romeo and Juliet Overature (P. I Tchaikovsky, arr by Michard Meyer); and the Tempest (Robert W Smith, String Editor, Robert D McCashin).
